WALNUT CREEK, Calif., July 25, 2014 — For the third consecutive year, Brown and Caldwell has been recognized by the National Safety Council (NSC) as an industry leader in safety. The company is a recipient of their 2014 Industry Leader Award, underscoring BC’s ongoing commitment to health and safety in the workplace. This prestigious award recognizes member companies who demonstrate the highest level of safety performance. Only 47 companies of more than 49,000 NSC member organizations earned the honor this year.

“Brown and Caldwell is extremely proud of our successful, longstanding health and safety initiatives,” said company President James R. Miller. “The company’s strong commitment to safe work environments is part of our corporate culture that begins with the dedication of each local health and safety team and extends to the support of all employees and senior management.”

The Industry Leader Award recognizes the top 5 percent of member companies, units and facilities that have met the criteria and qualified for the 2014 Occupational Excellence Achievement Award (based on 2013 calendar year data) from the National Safety Council. Winners are selected based on North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code, lowest total incidence rate and employee work hours.
