The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently released its action plan on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), man-made chemicals that are often found in fast food containers, nonstick cookware, and firefighting foams.

The class of contaminants can have lasting effects on water, remediation, and potable reuse, and include Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), and GenX chemicals.
