At this time when the Coronavirus pandemic is at the forefront of our lives, I wanted to personally let you know that Brown and Caldwell is vigilantly implementing enhanced protocols to protect the health and safety of our employees, their families, our clients, and communities.

We are closely monitoring the expert guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and state and local public health agencies to help guide decisions and the potential impact on our operations. Our focus is to ensure we continue to meet our clients’ and their community’s needs and remain operational while working together to help reduce the spread of the disease.

I know I speak for every Brown and Caldwell family member when I say that we take the greatest pride in doing the right thing to protect the health and safety of our colleagues, their families, our clients, and the communities we serve. Please know that while we all deal with this crisis, that we will continue to be your partner in helping you meet your objectives.

Here’s what we’re doing:

  • Formed a COVID-19 preparedness and response team to monitor the situation in real-time and adapt or implement response processes and procedures that will best protect our communities and set plans in motion for contingencies;
  • Recognizing that timely, up-to-date communication is paramount, we developed an internal COVID-19 resources site to provide employees with updates, FAQs, guidance, and contact information around our COVID-19 processes and procedures;
  • Continuing to foster a healthy, flexible work-life balance for our employees as they negotiate modified school hours, medical appointments, and other unforeseen scheduling conflicts;
  • Supporting work from home arrangements if employees have concerns or are in an “at-risk population” as defined by the CDC or need to care for immediate family members;
  • Maintaining a dialogue with clients and partners to understand what restrictions or modifications they are implementing and adjusting our procedures accordingly to minimize impacts to ongoing work;
  • Canceling or postponing all non-essential travel until further guidance from the CDC, the WHO, and state and local public health agencies;
  • Employees have canceled planned participation at external conferences scheduled through April 30;
  • Postponing all large, internal in-person meetings and gatherings while monitoring external conditions;
  • Using collaboration technology to host virtual meetings and reduce face-to-face engagements where possible;
  • Reviewing our policies and processes to allow our employees to make practical decisions for themselves and their families.

We believe that by embracing these measures and developing a stronger social responsibility mentality, we can positively impact the collective goal of preventing further community spread.

As we navigate through this challenging time, we remain adaptable and flexible and will continue to heed the advice from the leading health and safety agencies and adjust our processes and procedures as necessary. We value your trust and will keep you updated through this evolving situation as we work together to “flatten the curve” while maintaining the integrity of our nation’s vital infrastructure.
