It’s fair to say that nobody could have predicted the extent of the impact of novel coronavirus, a global pandemic the likes of which we have never seen. Nonetheless, water and wastewater utilities have risen to the challenge, adapting to the new normal to keep water and wastewater services intact and ensure their workers’ safety. In this webcast, experts in the trenches will share their stories of perseverance, lessons learned, and advice for the future. Our guests include Gary Williams, executive director of the Florida Rural Water Association and vice chair of FlaWARN; Bruce Giles, general manager of the First Utility District of Knox County, Tenn., where a group of volunteers – the QuaranTeam! – opted to shelter in place at the water plant during this pandemic; and Kate Novick, an emergency preparedness expert and managing director/founder of Gradient Planning.
