WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Brown and Caldwell, a leading environmental engineering and construction firm, is pleased to announce that Charles Myette has been recognized with the Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional Association’s (LSPA) Lifetime Achievement Award.

Formed in 1993, the LSPA is a professional association of licensed site professionals and industry professionals in support of regulations protecting the health and safety of Massachusetts’ citizens while expediting the cleanup and reuse of contaminated properties. The Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates distinguished and continued contributions for 25 years or more, to the advancement of science, standards, or professionalism in the field of site assessment and remediation under Massachusetts General Law (MGL) c. 21E.

A groundwater hydrology and chlorinated solvent specialist, Myette has been a key contributor to hundreds of projects involving the investigation and remediation of contaminants as well as water resource evaluations and aquifer protection studies. He provided expert technical advice to the United States Geological Society, United States Environmental Protection Agency, and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection on landmark Massachusetts cases including the Civil Action Trial of wells, G&H in Woburn, and the W.R. Grace site in Acton.

As LSPA Past President and former Conservation Commission Chairman on the Board of Directors, Myette was instrumental in creating the LSPA Scholarship Fund, awarding more than $180,000 in 44 scholarships for environmental education students in the past 15 years. Myette is also the recipient of the “ACE Founders Award” for his work in environmental justice.

“From groundbreaking remediation work in Massachusetts to securing education funds for the environmental specialists of tomorrow, this recognition celebrates Chuck’s extraordinary contributions to the environmental profession.”
