WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — June 3, 2014 — Brown and Caldwell today announced that Richard (Rich) D’Amato has been promoted to chief operating officer. D’Amato will assume management of all company operations beginning October 1, 2014, replacing James R. (Jim) Miller, who continues as president. D’Amato is based in the company’s Denver office.

“Rich is a seasoned executive-level manager with a proven track record of outstanding business results,” said Craig Goehring, chief executive officer. “His broad perspective and firsthand experience across many market sectors will help BC continue to deliver a unique and distinctive experience to our clients, even as our company continues to grow in scale and complexity.”

Brown and Caldwell reported revenues of $307 million in 2013 and is ranked seventh in Sewer and Waste, 15th in Water, and 17th in Hazardous Waste among the Engineering News-Record Top 500 Design Firms.

D’Amato had more than 22 years of engineering industry experience when he joined Brown and Caldwell in 2013 from CH2M HILL, where he was a senior vice president for its $500 million operations and maintenance (O&M) business group. During his 21-year tenure with CH2M HILL, D’Amato served in various senior positions supporting the firm’s public and private environmental and O&M businesses.

D’Amato has a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University, a Master of Science degree in environmental systems engineering from Clemson University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from SUNY at Buffalo.
