The Chevron Polysulfide process has been installed in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) and coker fractionation systems at six Chevron refineries for control of cyanide-induced corrosion and for energy conservation. In all units, the process was economically justified on the energy and additive savings resulting from its use. No credits were taken for corrosion benefits.
