Few municipalities in California or the nation will argue that handling and disposing of wastewater solids ids not a major concern as we approach the next century. Regulatory and environmental constraints are pushing agencies to look at alternatives that were once thought to be too uneconomical r too complicated to implement. This paper looks at the efforts of the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District to plan for sludge disposal in the year 2010.
