Historically, the environmental engineering profession has preferred to replace damaged pipeline rather than renovate or rehabilitate them. Today, however, engineers are developing pipeline rehabilitation techniques that are both simple and less costly than complete pipeline replacement. As a result, sewer system rehabilitation is becoming a vital part of cost-effective infrastructure maintenance programs.
