Papers and Reports

One of the major components of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments is Title III – Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs), which controls releases of the 189 listed constituents in Section 112 (b) of the Act. This list includes compounds which are released for refineries. The Petroleum Refinery NESHAP was proposed on July 15, 1994. The EPA proposed MACT standards for four separate refinery sources. EPA also requested information to assist in making its final selection of MACT standards which are due to be promulgated by June 30, 1995. This paper summarizes the current status of this rule making.
