In conjunction with Techint S.A., Brown and Caldwell designed a vertical expansion for the Villa Dominico Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Landfill. The landfill is located to the southeast of the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The project included the design of an innovative leachate collection and treatment system developed specifically for the local conditions. Discharge of treated effluent is to a tributary canal of the Rio de la Plata, which requires that a very high degree of treatment be obtained.
