Brown and Caldwell led the design-build-operate installation of a biological nutrient removal pilot facility located in Elk Grove, Calif. Winner of WERF’s 2014 Award for Excellence in Innovation, the pilot project provided critical information for the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District’s EchoWater Project, a $1.5 to $2.0 billion upgrade of the District’s 181 mgd regional wastewater facility that serves 1.4 million customers.
