In just 30 months, the remediation of General Iron Works – a rusty, decrepit iron foundry – transformed the site into Denver Regional Transportation District’s Elati Light Rail Station, a world-class facility that promotes sustainable transportation within the Denver Metro area. It is one of the largest light-rail facilities in the United States. The remediation plan re-parceled the property so that the lesser-contaminated parcel received an expeditious closure.
