To meet the critical wastewater infrastructure needs of three growing Arizona communities, the City of Mesa is building a 16 mgd water reclamation plant expansion. Brown and Caldwell is designing the solids treatment facilities, including a new primary clarifier and primary sludge pump station, sludge screening facility, two egg-shaped digesters and an associated equipment gallery, a dewatering centrifuge, sludge pumping and conveyance, digester gas flare, boiler, and odor control and chemical feed system upgrades. Delivered under a construction manager at risk model, the project will result in a reliable and efficient expanded facility for the City of Mesa, Town of Gilbert, and Town of Queen Creek as they develop and approach buildout.
